The stage is ready, the lights are on, and anticipation is high. But just hours before Geolier's double concert at the Agnano Hippodrome—scheduled for July 25th and 27th—a different tone is rising outside the show: protest. Anger explodes in the neighborhood streets over the complete lack of enforcement, while the area is being transformed into a gigantic illegal parking lot with insane rates. Forty euros for a car, twenty for a scooter: this is the price charged by those who, for days, have been running makeshift parking areas, even kilometers away from the event venue. Videos on social media even show shuttle services organized by Pianura, another neighborhood, to "ferry" fans to the racecourse.

But it's not just the complaints of users that are causing the uproar: the loudest protests come from those who live and work in the area. Businesses already brought to their knees by bradyseism are now forced to close for traffic and safety reasons. "We were forced to suspend our activities precisely on the days when the area will be crowded.", writes a restaurateur in a letter to the deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli. "They wouldn't even let us sell drinks or snacks outside the racetrack. Meanwhile, the illegal vendors are cashing in unregulated, while we're losing everything."

The complaints are mounting. Exasperated residents report that last year's concert had already turned into hell: blocked streets, no security, honking horns, and tension. This year, however, parking rackets have been added. A black market seemingly invisible to law enforcement. «It is unacceptable that illegal profit continues to be made from a public event – attack Borrelli –. We can't sacrifice an entire neighborhood to anarchy and disorder. The municipality must assume its responsibilities, as must the organizers."

I find the situation very complicated; it's unfair that traders suffer while illegal traders profit. There should be more controls and regulations to prevent these problems, which recur every year.
