Contursi – A theft of copper cables and other strategic materials has paralyzed the technological systems, including lighting, of the Serralunga tunnel on the A2 "Mediterranean" motorway. The tunnel, located between the Campagna and Contursi junctions in the province of Salerno, is now at risk due to an act of vandalism that has compromised the safety of motorists.
The Anas company, part of the Group FS Italiane, the operator of the line, immediately began restoration procedures. However, technicians say the work will take several days to complete. Fortunately, the work will be carried out inside the control rooms, avoiding disruption and impacting traffic.

It's a bit worrying that copper thefts are so frequent. Road safety is important to all of us motorists. We hope the work is completed quickly, even if it will take days.
