Among the talk shows of the new Rai schedules that are leading in the Prime Time section, entrusted to Williams Di Liberatore, is “Belve”.
"Among the major confirmations for this fall, we'll definitely be seeing the return of 'Belve'," the director announced, "the cult cross-media program created and hosted by Francesca Fagnani, and its spin-off, Belve Crime, which achieved great ratings success with its recent pilot."
The television format conceived, written and hosted by journalist and presenter Francesca Fagnani, broadcast on Rai 2 since 2021, has won over the public, making each episode a real media case. In fact, it was awarded the title of Broadcast of the Year during the 2025 Biagio Agnes Award.
Fagnani, on our pages, has recounted the embryonic origins of her authorial choices, explaining the motivations that have pushed her to pursue a journalistic style like a true beast, ready to explore the successes but also the shadows and the most hidden and unpopular aspects of her characters, thus putting them in a position to offer the public a more witty and uncomfortable storytelling, in which they must metaphorically unbutton the official dress of their image and argue about certain more unusual and delicate issues of their professional and private lives.

"I enjoyed the idea of featuring women who play the offensive," she explained, "women who aren't gregarious, who win, who lose, but always on merit and responsibility." Regarding the criteria she uses to invite her guests and how she recognizes their potential, she stated: "Selection is the most complicated aspect for me because the guest must be somehow consistent with the title; therefore, they must have an extraordinary background or a divisive personality. They must be someone who stands out and demonstrates an experience different from that of the spectators."
We address each other formally, we are face to face, sitting in a watchful position on a stool without a backrest, the audience is silent and attentive. Everything is studied in detail to create a certain atmosphere in the television studio and fulfill a journalistic mission, that is, to create a divergent portrait of the guest.
Precisely because of this stylistic register and thematic coherence, promotion is not done during the interviews of the television show. "To do promotion is not wrong, in the sense that it is right and it happened to me too to go to do promotion but repeat my book - he motivated - but I choose not to do it because if it were so, it would lead me to a certain type of questions different from the type of narrative that I intend to launch". All that remains, therefore, is to wait for the range of guests studied by Fagnani for the new season.

The article mentions Belve and Francesca Fagnani, but doesn't really explain how she earned the title of Program of the Year. It would be interesting to know the exact criteria used for the award and who assigns it.
I've seen Beasts several times and I think Fagnani's approach is interesting, but there are also many aspects that could be improved. Perhaps they should give more space to the audience's opinions during the episodes, to make everything more interactive.
