Solidarity to bring Nico home
A race against time, filled with grief, love, and solidarity. In just two days, the city of Frattamaggiore raised over €44 to bring back to Italy the body of Nico Del Prete, 34, who died suddenly in a tragic car accident in Miami, where he had lived for years. The news shocked two continents: friends and family from Naples to the United States rallied with one goal: to bring Nico home for a final farewell.
To launch the fundraising campaign on GoFundMe It was her cousin, Laura Gentile, who, with words full of pain, spoke of the urgency and necessity of a concrete gesture: His loss has left an immense void in our family and among his friends, both in Italy and the US. Now we want him to be able to return to the people who loved him.A simple message, yet devastating in its sincerity, which touched the hearts of hundreds of people.
Over 700 donations were received in 48 hours: an outpouring of love that exceeded all expectations, confirming how much Nico was loved and how much his story had left a lasting impression. A united community that chose not to look the other way, but to take action to allow a grief-stricken family to say goodbye to their son, grandson, and friend.
