Giugliano – More violence, more fear. The summer in Giugliano is filled with crime news, with yet another incident that once again puts the spotlight on city safety.
Around 20:30 pm last night, in Via Guglielmo Marconi, two men attempted a robbery against the owner of the Elettronica 51 store, who is also very well-known and followed on social media.
Last night was a bad night for TikTokers after the failed robbery of Mariomario. But the worst thing about the shooting at the Elettronica 51 store is that it happened in front of the owner's daughter, and only a miracle prevented it from turning into a tragedy.
The owner had already made headlines for a series of journalistic investigations by Luca Abete for Striscia la Notizia on Canale 5.
According to an initial reconstruction provided by the Carabinieri of the Giugliano company's mobile radio section, the two criminals broke into the premises, threatening the owner with a gun.
But the victim resisted, forcing the robbers to flee. Before fleeing, one of the two fired a shot in the air, presumably in an attempt to further intimidate the merchant.
Law enforcement officers responded to the scene and found a 7,65 caliber shell casing. No one was injured, but the incident caused considerable alarm among residents and shopkeepers in the area, already troubled by a string of thefts and robberies that are intensifying with the arrival of the summer season.

Investigations are ongoing to identify the two robbers. Investigators are reviewing surveillance camera footage and gathering witness statements.
This incident is part of a worrying trend of rising crime, which in recent weeks has hit not only Giugliano but several towns in the Naples area, with increasing frequency and violence.
This trend reopens the debate on the need to strengthen law enforcement presence in the area, especially during the summer months, when heat and chaos seem to fuel crime.

This news is truly worrying and demonstrates how important safety is in the city. I hope the authorities can find those responsible and that justice is served for everyone. Fear must not prevail.
