Naples – A cruel fate interrupted the dreams and hopes of Giovanni Borrelli, 53, a resident of Mugnano, who had married his wife Filomena just last October.
Giovanni lost his life during the night between Monday and Tuesday in a terrible accident on the Asse Mediano highway, near the Aversa Sud-Lusciano junction. He was making a delivery, working as a delivery driver, when his life was abruptly cut short.
According to the reconstruction of the police, Borrelli was riding his scooter and was travelling in the direction Giugliano when, for reasons yet to be ascertained, he violently collided with a car driven by a 55-year-old woman, originally from the Benevento area.
The impact was devastating. Eyewitnesses described a gruesome scene, with blood on the asphalt, which immediately foreshadowed the worst. When 118 paramedics arrived on the scene, there was unfortunately nothing more that could be done for Giovanni Borrelli: he had already died from the serious injuries he sustained.
