What was supposed to be a journey of excitement and passion turned into a rush to the hospital. Nine Catania fans, all members of the Curva Sud, were injured in a car accident near Salerno. The group had departed Catania for Norcia, in Umbria, where the Catania team is on a summer retreat for the upcoming football season.
The toll is heavy: two of the nine injured are hospitalized in critical condition, with a guarded prognosis. One is in Polla hospital, while the other was transferred, conscious but in serious condition, to Vallo della Lucania hospital. The cause of the crash is still under investigation: law enforcement is reconstructing the accident to determine what caused the vehicle to overturn.
Emergency responders and traffic police patrols responded immediately to the scene, managing the rescue operations and ensuring traffic safety. Meanwhile, the club, in constant contact with the Perugia Police Headquarters , is evaluating whether or not to confirm the public events scheduled for tomorrow: the friendly match against a local team and the official presentation in the square.

It's truly sad that such an important journey ended this way. I'm so sorry for the injured and their families. I hope they recover quickly and that the causes of their injuries are clarified as soon as possible.
