The strange death of Thiago Elar, the TikTok user who died at 27.

È Thiago Elar, a TikToker from Lombardy followed by thousands for his candid and unfiltered account of his life, psychological suffering, and profound search for identity, has died at the age of 27.

The family announced the news through an obituary published on local channels. Thiago – still registered in the registry office as Lisa El Arbaoui – He had been hospitalized for some time in a psychiatric clinic in Treviglio. The causes of death, it is understood, were natural.

A fragile but powerful figure

For those who followed him on TikTok, Thiago was much more than just a content creator. He had become a symbol of shameless vulnerability, a young man who didn't hide his pain, nor the struggles of transgender identity, eating disorders, or loneliness.

The videos (often numerous), published even within hours of each other, were a sort of open diary, a space in which he recounted his experiences inside the clinic, his difficult relationship with his family, and his desire to be called by the name he felt was his: Thiago.

The farewell video?

Among Thiago's latest posts on social media, one struck a chord. Sitting in his bed as usual, his voice calm but laced with exhaustion, he said:

“I'm still here. I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow, who'll send me somewhere better.”

In another, even more enigmatic video, he added:

“I’m waiting to go somewhere… it will probably take me to the end of my days.”

What did Thiago mean? Did he mean a new clinic, or something else? Nothing suggests extreme actions. His tone was melancholic, but lucid. The sentences remain unresolved, open to multiple interpretations.

Officially, it's called "natural causes." Yet, the combination of these messages, the moment they were shared, left a sense of suspense. It's neither suspicion nor accusation, but rather that feeling of suspense that remains when the narrative suddenly stops and certain details seem unresolved.
A silence that, despite respecting privacy, does not help to dispel the questions.

Even the obituary, which reported his dead name (“Lisa”), raised reactions of disappointment among those who knew him as Thiago and who knew how important it was for him to be recognized in his own identity.

The question that remains

There are no ongoing investigations, nor any evidence to suggest anything other than a natural death. But what remains, for those who followed him and listened to him every day, is a sense of incompleteness. Of something that went out too soon, and too quietly.
