Naples – The Regional Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Auditors of Campania has claimed damages of over one million euros against 82 employees of the Loreto Mare hospital, a facility of the ASL Napoli 1 Centro.
In the last few hours the NAS Carabinieri of Napoli, coordinated by Colonel Alessandro Cisternino, notified the defendants of the requests to deduct, an act which formally initiates the accounting proceedings.
At the heart of the investigation is the case known as the "time clock scammers," which first emerged in 2017 as part of a criminal investigation.

The case had already caused a stir at the time, leading to the arrest and suspension of several healthcare workers. Now the Court of Auditors is seeking to recover the unduly received sums, charging the 82 employees involved with total financial losses exceeding one million euros.
The financial investigation complements the criminal proceedings initiated years ago. The new notifications represent a further step in determining the civil and administrative liability of those involved in what was one of the most egregious cases of absenteeism in the Campania healthcare system.

The situation that has arisen is truly worrying and raises questions about how public funds are managed. It's important to ensure transparency and that those who make mistakes are fairly punished to prevent similar incidents in the future.
