The 33-year-old, already arrested for mistreatment against him, had shown up at the house: now he is back in custody
Caserta– A mother had her son arrested after he escaped from the nursing home where he was serving house arrest. The incident occurred in Gricignano d'Aversa, in the province of Caserta, where Carabinieri arrested a 33-year-old man already known to law enforcement.
The mother's escape and complaint
Late yesterday evening, the woman called 112 after her son showed up at her home without authorization. The man was under precautionary custody at a nursing home in Nocera Inferiore (Salerno), from which he had left illegally.
The man's past: abuse and extortion of his mother
The 33-year-old is no stranger to legal trouble: a year ago, he was arrested by the Carabinieri of Gricignano for domestic abuse and extortion—crimes committed against his own mother, who reported him yesterday.
The intervention of the Carabinieri and the new arrest
Officers arrived on the scene, located the man in the apartment and arrested him for escaping. The 33-year-old has now been returned to the same facility from which he fled, where he will again serve his pre-trial detention order.
A gesture of courage
The woman's action was an act of strong determination, considering her son's history of violence. Authorities emphasized the importance of never underestimating reports, especially when they come from victims of domestic crimes.
The episode demonstrates, once again, how complex the relationship between legality and family can be, but also how the courage to speak out is essential to breaking cycles of violence.
