Modena – He posed as a police officer to break into an elderly woman's home and, using a ruse, escaped with jewelry worth approximately 30 euros.
The Modena State Police executed a precautionary measure of community placement, ordered on July 17, 2025, by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Juvenile Court of Bologna, against an 18-year-old resident of Naples, already known to law enforcement. The young man, a minor at the time of the events, is seriously suspected of aggravated robbery.
On the afternoon of June 6, 2025, the Flying Squad responded to the victim's home, which had been robbed. The young man, posing as a Carabiniere, had convinced the elderly woman that he needed to check her valuables, claiming they were related to a jewelry store robbery in which the woman's son had been involved. Once he had collected the jewelry, faced with the victim's protests, he violently pushed her and fled with the loot.
The Flying Squad's investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court, allowed the perpetrator to be identified thanks to the papillon fingerprints collected by the Provincial Forensic Police Office and photographic identification by the victim.
On July 25, the 18-year-old was tracked down in Bologna by the Flying Squad and, after the usual formalities, was transferred to a community in the province of Caserta.
The young man is charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated by exploiting the victim's fear for his son and the significant financial damage caused. This case highlights the audacity and recklessness of a crime committed against a vulnerable individual.

You must publish the names of these jackals who prey on defenseless old people.
This article is very interesting, but I wonder how such a young man could do something like this. Law enforcement should do more to protect older people in situations like this.
