There is a place in Naples where stone tells stories and music transforms them into universal vibrations. It is the monumental courtyard of Maschio Angioino, ready to host the 25 edition of Music at the Castle.
A journey through jazz, Balkan rhythms, indie-pop, musical theater and migrant sounds promoted by the Municipality of Naples for “Napoli Città della Musica”, with the organizational direction of Arealive, as part of the “Estate a Napoli 2025” festival. Every evening, at 21:XNUMX p.m. sharp, the city opens to a new stage of this sound itinerary that crosses cultures, generations and geographies. Admission is free until all seats are taken, but what is promised is an experience without borders.
“'Musica al Castello' – explains Sergio Locoratolo, coordinator of the Municipality's cultural policies – is one of the key events of the Neapolitan summer.

A philosophy shared by Ferdinando Tozzi, the Mayor's delegate for the music and audiovisual industry, who underlines how the concept of contamination is at the heart of the initiative: "Naples City of Music is exactly this: a crossroads of languages. Here come to the Castle the Salento band Après La Classe, the Bolognese band Rumba de Bodas, the narrative sax of Daniele Sepe, the cinematic atmospheres of Calibro 35, the refined energy of Roy paci. Every concert is a story, every evening a passing of the baton between genres and poetics, from the most visceral funk to ballads that smell of the sea and departures. Naples is not a backdrop, but an amplifier: the city does not limit itself to hosting, but participates, vibrates, responds. Because here music is never just sound: it is history, community, resistance and celebration.

I find it interesting that Naples can showcase its culture through music, but sometimes I think there's too much going on. I hope the artists are well received and that the public actively participates in the events.
