NAPLES – A gun hidden under a pillow, a cartridge already in the chamber, and the serial number scratched off. This is how an 18-year-old man was found Tuesday afternoon in the Pallonetto neighborhood during a State Police check. Officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid intervened as part of the extraordinary operations deployed by the Naples Police Headquarters to stem the spread of illegal gun possession and drug trafficking.
The young man, with a criminal record despite his young age, was caught by surprise inside his home. During the search, officers discovered a 6,35 caliber Beretta pistol in the bedroom, well hidden under a pillow. The weapon, with its serial number removed and already loaded with a round, was found to be illegal.

I don't understand how a young person could have a gun at home. There needs to be more control over these kids. The police are right to intervene, but we also need to educate young people so they don't get to this point.
