59-year-old arrested, he also had a video surveillance system at his home
Naples – The Naples Police Headquarters' extraordinary operations to combat drug trafficking continue unabated.
Yesterday morning, in the Scampia neighborhood, the State Police arrested a 59-year-old Neapolitan man with a criminal record, accused of illegal drug possession.
The discovery in the car and the house search
Officers from the Flying Squad and the Scampia Police Station, during a check on Via Arcangelo Ghisleri, stopped a car carrying the man. The initial search resulted in the discovery of seven packages of cocaine and €7 in cash, divided into various denominations of banknotes.
Considering the discovery, the officers extended their search to the suspect's home. There, well hidden inside a cupboard, they discovered eight more packages of the same narcotic, two precision scales, and various drug packaging materials.
Evidence of organized illegal activity was also found in a DVR (video surveillance system) with a monitor displaying images recorded by five microcameras. These cameras were strategically positioned to capture the outside area, likely to evade law enforcement.
For all these reasons, the 59-year-old was arrested by the police. The operation confirms the police's ongoing commitment to combating drug dealing, a phenomenon that continues to undermine the safety and well-being of neighborhoods.
