Naples– It had been stolen from a Kuwaiti tourist on vacation in the city, but thanks to the GPS installed on the motorcycle, the Carabinieri were able to track it down. Thus ended the brief fugitive status of a Harley Davidson, recovered by the military of the Naples radiomobile unit and the Stella Company inside a clandestine warehouse on salita Scudillo, not far from a garage.

The satellite signal from the vehicle led the investigators to the scene, which led the soldiers to a dark and hidden underpass. Here, after some pressing questions, two men - a 25-year-old and a 37-year-old from the Sanità district, both already known to the police - gave in: they were in possession of the keys to the place, found in one of their pockets.

Inside the warehouse, the Carabinieri they discovered the stolen Harley Davidson, along with eight other scooters also stolen.

Not only that: the blitz led to the seizure of a jammer (a device used to inhibit GPS signals), burglary tools and an adhesive license plate, probably intended to cover the identity of the stolen vehicles.

The two men were reported for receiving stolen goods and illegal waste management. The vehicles found will be returned to their rightful owners. The operation is part of a broader plan to combat vehicle thefts that, especially in the summer months, sees law enforcement engaged in the main urban areas.

It's good news that the Carabinieri found the stolen motorbike, but I don't understand how so many vehicles can be stolen without being stopped first. There should be more control on the streets of Naples.
