Pompeii – The Pompeii Amphitheater is preparing for another unforgettable chapter in the BOP – Beats of Pompeii series: on Saturday, July 19, at 21:15 PM, Nick Cave, one of the most intense and visionary voices in contemporary music, will take the stage.

An event already sold out for months, which marks the Australian artist's return to Campania twenty years after his last performance at the Neapolis Festival.

A piano, a hypnotic voice and the bass of Colin Greenwood

Cave, former Bad Seeds frontman and post-punk legend, will perform a solo piano concert, accompanied on bass by Colin Greenwood, longtime Radiohead member. An intimate and powerful show, the artist will perform his most iconic songs, blending rock, blues, and dark narratives, with that deep voice and soul-searching lyrics.

After Pink Floyd in 1971, Jean-Michel Jarre, Ben Harper, and other big names at this year's BOP, the Pompeii Amphitheater—the same one that hosted gladiatorial games two thousand years ago—will host a new moment of fusion between music and history.

"Half an hour after the tickets went on sale online, they were already sold out, snapped up by fans from all over the world," the organizers say. "The July 19th event will not just be a performance, but a unique encounter between Cave's art and the symbolic power of Pompeii," emphasizes Gabriel Zuchtriegel, general director of the Archaeological Park.

At 67, Nick Cave remains a peerless visionary: a musician, poet, actor, and director, he has influenced generations with his ability to blend brutality and beauty. His live performances promise a rare emotional intensity, in a place that has witnessed millennia of emotions.

UPCOMING BOP EVENTS

After Cave, the BOP will continue with two other unmissable events:

July 24: Riccardo Muti conducts the Cherubini Orchestra
July 25: Bryan Adams unplugged
Pompeii thus confirms its position as the stage where music becomes culture, in a timeless dialogue between past and present.

The Nick Cave event looks very interesting, but I wonder how they sold out so quickly. Cave's music is great, but I don't know if I'll be able to attend due to the high cost.
