Blue deckchairs with the city logo, umbrellas that shade the city and a platform that reaches the water: starting today, the Rotonda Diaz beach, in the heart of Naples' seafront, is transformed into a small, free, public beach resort.
The initiative, promoted by the Department of Tourism together with that of Social Policies, offers residents and tourists the opportunity to enjoy the summer with all the comforts, without spending a single euro. Deckchairs, umbrellas, showers, chemical toilets, director's chairs and job chairs for going down to the water: all available to those who want to take a break from the city heat in one of the most iconic settings of the city.
«The service is completely free and will last until September 19th», explains the municipal councilor for Welfare, Luca Trapani, also underlining the commitment to inclusiveness: a platform is already active for access to the beach for people with disabilities or reduced mobility and specialized personnel will soon be operational to accompany those in need to the sea.

The new beach seems like a good idea, but there are many things to consider. I hope there is enough space for everyone and that the equipment is well maintained. Will the umbrellas and deck chairs be available for a long time? I don't know if this service will be a success.
