Paestum – A nighttime burglary occurred at the villa of a Neapolitan businessman on vacation. While he and his family slept, thieves managed to break into the summer home of Gaetano Giudice, a well-known salesman of advertising systems and services. The theft occurred in Paestum, a tourist destination in the province of Salerno.
According to the reconstruction, the criminals—wearing hats and masks—entered the building through the bathroom window. Once inside, they moved silently through the rooms, stealing jewelry, valuable watches, cash, designer handbags, and bracelets while the owners slept unaware.
The thieves deactivated the alarm system but not the cameras.
The robbery was partially captured by the villa's internal video surveillance system, which the thieves later disabled to remain undisturbed. The captured footage could prove crucial to the investigation, currently being conducted by the judicial police, who are conducting on-site surveys for fingerprints and other evidence that could help identify the perpetrators.
The entrepreneur filed a complaint with the police, assisted by lawyer Gennaro Demetrio Paipais. It has not yet been ruled out that the thieves had studied the family's habits and planned the theft in detail.
The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are also examining any possible connections to other recent burglaries along the Salerno coast, which has seen a surge in private home burglaries in recent weeks, especially during the summer holidays.
