Naples – In early July, the Carabinieri Forestali of Naples reported two people at large responsible for fires, one in the forest and the other on vegetation, which occurred respectively in Casamicciola Terme and in the capital of Naples.
A Casamicciola Terme, on the island of Ischia, the military of the Forestry Nucleus, during a patrol service to prevent forest fires, noticed a dense plume of smoke coming from the woods in the locality of “Pietrone”, above via Borbonica.
Having reached the location after having traveled along a rugged path, the Carabinieri surprised a 50-year-old from Lacco Ameno, with specific precedents, while he was trying to contain with a shovel the flames he himself had started for a cleaning fire, which he had lost control of. The military collaborated to put out the fire and reported the man for negligent forest fire.
In Naples, in via Salita allo Scudillo, the Carabinieri reported a 52-year-old from Giugliano in Campania, owner of a fireworks company based in Villaricca. The man, although regularly authorized, on the night between June 12 and 13, at the end of a private ceremony in a villa for events, caused a fire by exploding fireworks, which seriously damaged an Araucaria bidwilli tree.
The 52-year-old will have to answer for the crime of arson. The prevention and repression of forest fires, a phenomenon on the increase during this period of the year, remains a priority for the Carabinieri Forestale Group of Naples, committed to protecting the environmental heritage.
