Naples – A pizzeria was set up illegally on premises owned by the Municipality of Naples, with tables placed illegally on public land.

This is the business discovered and seized by officers from the Building Protection and Scampia operational units of the Local Police, after three months of investigation.

It all started with an inspection in the area between Piscinola and Scampia, where the owner had presented documents certifying his authorization to use the municipal property.

Unfortunately, those documents, upon closer inspection, turned out to be fake. Furthermore, the business had expanded its space, unduly occupying a portion of the sidewalk designated for pedestrian traffic.

The owner was reported for illegal occupation of a building and public land, use of false documents, and building violations.

The pizzeria was closed and placed under administrative seizure, while the outdoor area was placed under criminal seizure. Another case of illegal construction exposed, but the question arises: how many other establishments in Naples survive thanks to forged documents and spaces stolen from the city?

It's incredible how things can get this far. The situation of illegal pizzerias is very serious and makes us reflect on the controls that should be implemented to prevent this type of abuse. We hope the authorities take more action.
