Pozzuoli – An episode of extreme cruelty has shocked the Toiano district of Pozzuoli, where two rottweilers, released by their owners, attacked and killed several stray cats living in the area.

The scene, captured on video by some residents and sent to MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli (Green-Left Alliance), prompted those present to call the Municipal Police. The officers, supported by the local veterinary health authority, identified the dogs' owners. "An act of unspeakable cruelty," commented Borrelli.

"Anyone who allows or, worse, encourages their dogs to commit such acts is not an animal lover, but a danger to the community. There's no guarantee that these individuals won't turn their dogs on people in the future."

The MP raised the issue of the lack of custody of aggressive dogs, such as rottweilers, calling for severe penalties: "Those responsible cannot get away with this. An exemplary punishment is needed to protect public safety and prevent further incidents."

The incident has reignited the debate over the need for stricter controls on owners of potentially dangerous dogs .

This episode is truly disturbing and makes us reflect on how some owners neglect their pets. The law must be stricter for those who own dogs that can cause harm, because everyone's safety must come first.
