Half a million dollar robbery in Pianura in a daring act
Napoli - As the saying dear to poker players goes, "I'll get in on the big time," in the case of the jewelry salesman robbed in Naples, it's worth paraphrasing it as "I'll get in on the big time." And that's exactly what four robbers did, and now they'll surely be able to plan dream vacations for the month of August.
A mind-blowing heist, planned down to the smallest detail and pulled off at dawn. This is what happened this morning, around 7:500 a.m., on Via Leonardo Sciascia, in the Pianura neighborhood, where a jewelry salesman was robbed by an armed commando on motorcycles. A lightning-fast operation that netted the criminals an estimated €XNUMX in gold and precious metals.
According to what was reconstructed by police of the Bagnoli company, who responded to the scene after the report, the victim – a Neapolitan businessman specializing in the sale of jewelry – had just left his home and was heading to his car to go to work. It was at that moment that at least four thieves, armed with a gun and with their faces covered, blocked him and forced him to hand over the bag he was carrying.
Inside, according to initial estimates, there were approximately 5 kilos of gold, including jewelry, necklaces, rings, and other valuables intended for commercial distribution. No one was injured during the attack, but the victim was deeply shocked.
The investigation is now underway: Carabinieri officers are combing surveillance cameras in the area and interviewing any witnesses to try to trace the gang, which vanished within seconds. The nature of the attack—the number of participants, the use of motorcycles, the weapons, and knowledge of the victim's whereabouts—lead to a targeted hit, carried out by criminals.
It's possible the representative had been under observation for days. Investigators are also investigating any possible links to other similar heists reported in the city.
