Renovation of the Palastadera in Naples approved
NNaples – The City Council has approved the Planning Guidelines for the renovation of the Palastadera, the historic sports facility on Via della Stadera, in the heart of eastern Naples.
The green light came at the suggestion of Emanuela Ferrante, Councilor for Sport and Equal Opportunities, and Pier Paolo Baretta, Councilor for Budget and Heritage.
The project is part of the initiatives financed through the Development and Cohesion Fund 2021-2027, within the framework of the Cohesion Agreement promoted by the Region CampaniaThe project aims to regenerate the urban and infrastructural infrastructure of a densely populated area, often on the margins of urban planning.
The Palastadera will be transformed into a multipurpose facility open to the neighborhood, designed to host sports, social, and cultural activities. The redevelopment will include securing the building and renovating its structural and utility systems, with the goal of providing a modern and inclusive space for residents.
“With the approval of the DIP,” declared Emanuela Ferrante, “the Administration is launching a concrete initiative to enhance the area and improve the quality of life, especially for young people.
This is a crucial step for an often-overlooked area of the city, where there's a strong need for spaces for sports and socializing. The European Capital of Sport is also built this way: by investing in the neighborhoods that need it most.
A project that, according to Palazzo San Giacomo, represents an important step in the path of inclusion, cohesion, and urban development that the Manfredi Administration intends to pursue in the coming years.

The renovation of the Palastadera is a good thing, but I wonder if the work will be completed quickly and if the neighborhood will truly benefit. Let's hope the promises are kept and that this isn't just a cosmetic move.
