During a well-attended concert, a man forcefully ripped a gold necklace from a concertgoer's neck, then attacked both the victim and her brother, who intervened to stop the robber.
The incident occurred late yesterday evening, in front of hundreds of people gathered to witness the event. According to the Carabinieri of the Salerno Duomo station, who responded immediately to the scene, the man apparently took advantage of the crowd and the festive atmosphere to act quickly and try to disappear.
But the robbery didn't end there: when the bystander reacted, the perpetrator responded with violence, striking not only the victim but also his brother who was trying to stop him. This act led to charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated by the use of violence to secure his escape.
Thanks to the intervention of the Carabinieri and the cooperation of several witnesses, the man was stopped and arrested shortly thereafter, amid applause from those still shaken by what had happened. The stolen goods were recovered and returned to their rightful owner, while the attacker was taken to the police station pending judicial orders.
