Naples – Eight sentences, some very serious, at the end of the trial born from the “Drugstore” investigation, which reconstructed a vast international drug trafficking from South America to Italy, with the port of Salerno transformed into a logistical hub for cocaine and marijuana directed to the drug dealing areas of the Salerno area.
Among those sentenced were also prominent members of the 'ndrangheta reggina and accomplices of Neapolitan origin. The proceedings, celebrated with an abbreviated rite, concluded with sentences ranging from 5 to 14 years of imprisonment.
The investigations, coordinated by the Salerno Public Prosecutor's Office (PM Valente), led in 2024 to the issuing of 15 precautionary measures, including 11 prison arrests, 3 house arrests and an obligation to remain in a place of residence, against people accused of being part of a transnational criminal association dedicated to drug trafficking.
According to the prosecution, the head of the organization operated by orchestrating the arrival of the drugs by sea, with the logistical and operational support of the Calabrian gangs and Campanian contacts.
