This morning, around dawn, a man in his 60s was found dead in Torre del Greco, in Piazzale della Repubblica, a few steps from the central Circumvesuviana station.
The body, found near the lava stone benches in an area equipped with playground equipment, was noticed by some commuters heading to the train, who immediately alerted the police.
Carabinieri and police responded to the scene and began an investigation to identify the man, although it is not yet clear whether he was in possession of any documents or personal effects.
At this time, there are no obvious signs of violence on the body , leading investigators to believe it was a sudden illness. However, the area, known for being frequented by drug addicts and the homeless in the evenings, does not rule out other avenues of investigation.
A small group of onlookers gathered around the site of the discovery, while authorities continue their investigations to clarify the cause of death and reconstruct the victim's final hours.
