A truly luminous Golden Mile provided the backdrop for the most attended and symbolically unified edition of the Festival of the Vesuvian Villas, which concluded with an overwhelmingly positive outcome and hearts brimming with emotion.
Twenty-seven shows, five municipalities involved, a full month of events, and approximately six thousand spectators: numbers that speak not only to the success of a festival, but also to the tangible impact of a vision, a synergy, and a passion finally shared.
For the first time, in fact, all the towns of the Golden Mile – Ercolano , Portici, San Giorgio a Cremano, Torre del Greco and Naples (VI Municipality) – have united in a single cultural project, creating a system around the timeless beauty of the historic homes that preserve their soul: Villa Campolieto, Villa Vannucchi, Villa Mascolo, Palazzo Vallelonga and Palazzo Bisignano have come back to life, restored to their natural vocation as places of art, meeting and shared memory.
Leading this authentic Vesuvian renaissance was once again the president of the Fondazione Ente Ville Vesuviane, Gennaro Miranda, who with determination and vision was able to give the festival a new lease of life, combining roots and modernity.
Alongside him, artistic director Bruno Tabacchini has created a refined and multi-faceted program, featuring major names, national premieres, poetic tributes, dance, music, tradition, and experimentation. A program conceived as a true journey of identity, capable of appealing both to the local community and to a wider audience, drawn by the richness and quality of the cultural offerings.
Compared to last year, attendance doubled, confirming that the investment in the Vesuvian Villas, understood not only as monuments but as living cultural hubs, was not only timely but necessary. The total attendance of approximately six thousand spectators represents a significant milestone, but also a starting point for a future that promises to be even more ambitious.
The Festival of the Vesuvian Villas has thus confirmed its position not only as one of the most prestigious cultural events of the Campania summer, but also as a community workshop, where art becomes a common language, a bridge between generations, and a driver of regional rebirth. The lights dim on the stages, but the flame of an identity that has finally found a home remains alight.
This year's Festival of the Vesuvian Villas was undoubtedly very interesting, but I believe there were some critical issues that needed addressing. The numbers are positive, but we mustn't forget to improve the organization for the future.
