Highway accident in Portici: two dead and five injured. Two are in serious condition.

NA road accident that occurred this morning on the Naples-Salerno highway heading south has resulted in a very serious accident. Two people have died and five have been injured, two of whom are in serious condition.

THEaccident It occurred near the Portici exit. There was a violent impact between two cars, possibly due to distracted driving. The high speed on that stretch of highway caused the car that collided to literally fly into the air.

The drivers following thought they were witnessing a scene straight out of a movie. But it was the grim reality. Numerous ambulances, firefighters, highway patrol cars, and other law enforcement agencies were on the scene.

Traffic was paralyzed. It took time to extract the injured from the twisted wreckage of the second car. The toll was tragic: two dead and two seriously injured, one transported to Cardarelli Hospital and the second to Ospedale del Mare. The other three suffered minor injuries.

The investigation will now establish the causes and responsibilities, while in the meantime the hospitals are racing against time to save the lives of the two seriously injured.

E' davvero un brutto incidente che è successo stamane, non si può credere che ci siano stati due morti e cinque feriti. Spero che le indagini chiariscano cosa è successo per evitare altri incidenti simili in futuro.
