Naples – The Chiaia district, the beating heart of Neapolitan nightlife, was once again the focus of Carabinieri checks.

The operation, aimed at combating lawlessness and disorder, resulted in seven complaints and, in a highly efficient gesture that strengthens the city's image, the recovery and return of two cell phones stolen from tourists.

The area of "baretti", which has long been under the scrutiny of law enforcement due to its complex nature, has been the scene of intense prevention and repression efforts.

Among the charges, those against a 22-year-old man, stopped for the second time riding a motorcycle without a license, and four other young people, all caught driving without ever having obtained a license, stand out. An 18-year-old was also charged with resisting a public officer after forcing a roadblock.

The most significant finding, however, concerns the recovery of cell phones. A 33-year-old man was stopped while attempting to dispose of two smartphones. Immediate checks confirmed that the devices had been stolen.

A 33-year-old man was arrested for having stolen cell phones from two tourists.

Thanks to their efficient investigation, the Carabinieri were able to track down the owners: two Italian tourists. The rapid return of the devices is a very important sign.

In a city increasingly relying on tourism, incidents like this, if handled promptly, help build an image of safety and reliability. The efficiency of law enforcement in recovering stolen goods from visitors is a calling card the city can and should proudly display.

The operation wasn't limited to the most serious crimes. The officers issued 41 traffic tickets, including 12 for driving without a helmet, and seized nine vehicles. Finally, three drug users were reported to the Prefecture.

The controls of Carabinieri, therefore, they focus not only on petty crime, but also on combating those behaviors that undermine road safety and public order, essential elements for a healthy and liveable nightlife for residents and tourists.

The Carabinieri operation in Chiaia was significant, but there are still many security concerns. Nightlife has been a hot topic for some time, and no solutions are in sight. Tourists need to feel safe and secure.
