Formia - It was supposed to be a relaxing day at the beach, but it turned into a scary afternoon.
Ten Neapolitan holidaymakers – six women and four men, all between 50 and 60 years old – ended up in hospital in Formia after eating a tuna salad at the Lido delle Sirene restaurant, on the Gianola coast.
The incident occurred early yesterday afternoon. Shortly after 16.30:XNUMX PM, one of the women complained of severe stomach pains and fainted in front of other customers. Within minutes, her fellow diners also exhibited the same symptoms of suspected food poisoning.
Ambulances, carabinieri patrol cars and vehicles from the Latina ASL inspectors arrived on the seafront.

All were hospitalized for checks: their conditions are not particularly worrying, but the doctors ordered an overnight observation.
Meanwhile, the Carabinieri and health personnel began immediate checks in the beach resort's kitchen, taking samples of the suspicious food for laboratory tests.
Botulinum toxin was initially ruled out, but only tests over the next few days will clarify the cause of the poisoning.
The incident also attracted a small crowd of beachgoers and onlookers to the seafront, surprised by the comings and goings of ambulances and the screams of vacationers struck by the illness. What was supposed to be a peaceful day at the beach turned into an unexpectedly nightmare afternoon for ten Neapolitan tourists.

It's truly incredible how a relaxing day can turn into something so terrible. I hope those involved are feeling better and that the necessary tests are done to understand what really happened. It's important to pay attention to food safety in restaurants.
