Afragola – They attempted to rob a pharmacy at six in the morning, but the robbery failed thanks to the alarm and the screams of the residents.
It happened today on Via Pietro Nenni, where a gang of three men, all masked and wearing dark clothing, attempted to force open the shutters of the business using a large iron bar. The criminals, driving a car, had stopped in front of the entrance, with one of them acting as lookout.
The attempted robbery, however, was interrupted by the activation of the alarm system and the shouts of several neighbors, who, leaning out of their balconies, began screaming, scaring the gang away. The robbers were unable to enter the premises and fled empty-handed.
Surveillance cameras captured the entire scene: the footage has already been forwarded to MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli and to the Europa Verde representative in the area, Salvatore Iavarone.
"This time the heist went badly because the residents didn't look the other way," commented Borrelli and Iavarone. "The audacity of criminals who, in broad daylight, thought they could break into a shutter as if nothing had happened is astonishing. We hope that, thanks to the images and reports, we can identify the robbers."
The pharmacy owners have been extremely vocal in their outburst , denouncing an unsustainable situation: "The damage is far greater than the few pennies they would have found in the register. The same story repeats itself every two or three months. It's a province in disarray, unsupervised, at the mercy of these gangs."
This morning's attempted robbery is just the latest in a long series of incidents fueling a sense of insecurity in the northern suburbs of Naples, an area that has long been plagued by thefts and commercial attacks.

I read the article and it's incredible how criminals think they can pull off attacks in broad daylight. It's important for the community to unite to protect their businesses. Let's hope the authorities intervene before something worse happens.
