A wiretapped phrase, “Shoot down in the legs… and you’re gone…,” convinced the Court of Appeal to downgrade the initial charge of attempted murder to assault.

Following the jealousy-induced wounding of TikTok user Luca Di Stefano in Melito, the case against boss Michele Orefice, known as "o' nir," believed to be the leader of the eponymous group affiliated with the Pezzella clan, his 20-year-old son Luigi, and his 23-year-old loyalist Pietro D'Angelo, has been weakened.

The first is considered the instigator while the other two are the material perpetrators of the shootings in the fish market restaurant in Melito which took place on the evening of May 13, 2025.

The boss's revenge and the family's involvement

According to investigators, Orefice wanted revenge on the TikTok user, who was guilty of having an affair with his ex-lover. For the "punitive mission," he allegedly assigned his son, Luigi Orefice, 20, and his loyal follower, Pietro D'Angelo, 23. The woman also needed to be punished for her betrayal.

The investigations by the Naples Flying Squad and the Frattamaggiore police station were based on an environmental wiretap that revealed the boss's vindictive nature.

The wiretaps that frame those responsible

The dialogue between Michael Orefice and his former lover, which occurred on May 15, 2025, was crucial for investigators. Although the boss was already in prison, the conversation provided a clear picture of the motives behind the woman's beating and the attack on the TikToker.

In a sarcastic exchange, Orefice asked the woman if she had gone to "cure her boyfriend," referring to the TikToker. Another conversation, intercepted that same day, revealed another threat from the boss to the woman, confirming his role in the incident.

The dynamics of the ambush

On the evening of May 13, 2025, everything takes place in a restaurant in Sant'Antimo. Pietro D'Angelo, with his face covered, bursts into the fish shop of di StefanoHe points the gun toward the kitchen and fires two shots, wounding the restaurateur in the hand.

The TikToker's reaction is straight out of a movie: he grabs the tables and throws them at the killer, knocking him off balance. A passing police car with sirens blaring scares the killer away.

A complex story, where anger over a betrayal mixes with Camorra violence, and where a simple TikTok user became the target of an ambush over a question of "honor" and criminal power.
