Avellino – A ban on late-night gatherings, alcohol consumption, and urban decay in the Piazza Kennedy park. Prefectural Commissioner Giuliana Perrotta issued an order in response to numerous reports of disturbances, fights, and arguments that have made the area particularly critical during the evening hours.
Restrictions from 16pm to 7am, increased controls
The measure, effective immediately and valid until September 15, prohibits:
parking and night gatherings;
consumption of beverages alcoholic beverages from 16.00pm to 7.00am throughout the area.
The decision comes after the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, which met at the Prefecture on Monday, August 11, reviewed the situation.
Extraordinary cleaning and disinfestation
To redevelop the area, the Municipality has announced:
an extraordinary cleaning of the park;
disinfestation carried out by the competent health authorities.
Furthermore, the obligation for attendees to:
do not abandon waste (including cigarette butts and cans);
keep dogs on a leash and muzzled;
collect animal waste.
More checks by law enforcement
To ensure compliance with the regulations, local police and Carabinieri will increase their surveillance. The goal is to restore decorum and safety to a public space that has too often been the target of incivility incidents.
