Naples – Residents of the Campi Flegrei area have until August 31st to request a free technical inspection to assess the seismic vulnerability of their properties.
The initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Naples , concerns private residential buildings in the Phlegraean Fields area, one of the areas with the highest volcanic and seismic risk in Italy.
To apply, the only way is to fill out the online form on the Civil Protection platform, accessible at https://istanze.protezionecivile.gov.it.
If you live in a single-family home, you must apply as the owner, usufructuary, or tenant (but in the latter case, a written authorization is required). If you live in a condominium, the administrator must submit the application, while for buildings with multiple owners but not organized as a condominium, a representative designated by all of them is required.
Those who have already submitted their application but haven't yet scheduled an appointment with the municipal technicians should hurry: the municipal offices ask you to contact them by the end of the month by calling 081.7956114 or by emailing protezione.civile@pec.comune.napoli.it. The inspections must be completed by September 14th, so it's best to act quickly.
Once the building's seismic vulnerability has been assessed, the resulting classification could be used to access funding from the 2025 Budget Law, which allocates resources for the earthquake-proofing of private homes in the Phlegraean Fields.
