Capri – A rapid and coordinated intervention avoided the worst yesterday afternoon on the free beach of Marina Grande, in Capri, where a thirteen-year-old with communication difficulties was rescued from the sea after getting lost among the crowd of swimmers.
The alarm was raised when the parents, unable to find their son, alerted the beach attendants of the baywatch service run by the Bourelly company, to which the Municipality has entrusted safety on the beach and in the water.
After an initial unsuccessful search, the boy's photo and description were shared among officials, sparking a full-blown manhunt.
While the staff combed the beach and the sea, a lifeguard, from the main station, spotted the young man near some buoys thanks to the use of binoculars.

The incident was truly shocking, and the swift action of the beach attendants was remarkable. It's important to have trained personnel for such difficult situations, especially in places like Capri, where there are many tourists.
