The traditional end-of-summer event with Dino De Angelis, a Lucanian artist, narrator, and author—or rather, a narrator-author, as he likes to call himself—whom the town of Castellammare di Stabia always welcomes with affection and enthusiasm, returns.
On August 31st, at 21:00 pm, at the historic CRAL headquarters (formerly an open-air cinema) at Via Bonito 20, in the heart of Castellammare, De Angelis will stage the show “Le lettere ”, which delves into the folds of time and sparks a profound reflection on the value of memory and the written word.
The evening will feature a selection of letters from illustrious figures in history and literature. The author will explore and interpret the ink that captured those words, inspired by thought, so that they may come alive again: like a distant echo capable of enveloping the audience and reawakening dormant emotions.
The show will also be an opportunity to question the present. In an age dominated by speed and impulse, the written word has become an obsolete tool in personal relationships. Technology has weakened the meaning of words, and emotions often pay the price. Dialogue, devoid of reflection, risks losing its depth.
The letter is a gesture of rare intensity, "a precious little document," says De Angelis. Memories, promises, confessions, and dreams intertwine within it. Even as time passes, the letter remains: a silent witness to what has happened. This is where the author's subtle work of recovery takes shape, giving voice to the letters, enveloping them in the narrative caress of his work. A delicate gesture that transforms memory into story and story into emotion.
The audience will witness a narrative and musical format: the scene will come to life through the direction and voice of Dino De Angelis, accompanied by the original sounds of Salvatore Torregrossa and the evocative trumpet of Matteo Franza. An immersive and intense experience lasting about an hour and a quarter, capable of engaging all the senses.
