The incident occurred yesterday evening in an apartment in Castellammare di Stabia. According to the military's reconstruction, the man had repeatedly attacked his 49-year-old wife following an argument that escalated into violence.
It was the couple's eldest daughter, a witness to the incident, who sent a desperate message to her aunt: "Run, Dad's hitting Mom." Words that left no room for doubt.
The victim's aunt, the victim's sister, rushed home and, once inside with the help of her niece, found herself faced with a horrifying scene: the man was clutching his wife's neck, as she lay sprawled on the sofa.

He attempted to provide the police with a very different version of events: he claimed he had left after an argument, saying his wife had thrown his cell phone out the window. This version was contradicted by evidence gathered on the scene and by the direct testimony of his sister-in-law.
The woman was treated at San Leonardo hospital
The victim, in shock, was taken to San Leonardo Hospital, where doctors found abrasions on her arm and gave her a ten-day prognosis. She told the police that this wasn't her first attack.
