The procedure was performed by the ophthalmology department team led by Marco Verolino, with the collaboration of anesthesiologist Salvatore Ambrosio, coordinator of the harvesting and collection operations. After the death was confirmed, the decision to authorize the donation came from the family, accompanied and supported by medical staff.
