Boscoreale – A severe blow to organized crime in the Vesuvian area was delivered by the Carabinieri of Boscoreale.
At the request of the Naples District Anti-Mafia Office, the investigating judge issued a precautionary detention order for two people, charged with possession for the purpose of drug trafficking, possession of illegal weapons, and use of mafia methods.
The arrests, carried out by police of the Boscoreale station, shed light on a situation of criminal tension aimed at seizing control of the territory. The two suspects, in fact, were acting on behalf of a larger group, which had assembled a veritable arsenal.
An arsenal hidden in the house and in the car
The investigation uncovered a staggering quantity of weapons, explosives, and drugs. The officers found an assault rifle, a submachine gun, and other clandestine weapons with obliterated serial numbers, as well as explosive devices and ammunition.
Everything was carefully hidden: inside their respective homes, in a private garage and even in the false bottom of a car.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the availability of such a powerful arsenal, along with the large quantity of drugs, was intended to "gain control of the Boscoreale area." This operation highlights a new wave of criminal violence, with groups reorganizing and arming themselves to assert their dominance.
The arrest of the two suspects, accused of operating using mafia-style methods, represents a significant step towards ensuring local security and countering the power dynamics of organized crime.
