Shortage of supplies puts treatment of critically ill patients at risk
Caserta - The Sant'Anna e San Sebastiano Hospital in Caserta is launching an urgent appeal to the public to address the serious blood shortage affecting Campania.
The shortage of supplies jeopardizes the treatment of critically ill patients, thalassemia patients, and the performance of life-saving surgeries. General Director Gennaro Volpe invites all healthy citizens under 65 to donate at the Immunotransfusion Service (building N, floor -1), open Monday to Saturday, from 8:30 to 11:30.
A special appeal is also made to law enforcement, who have traditionally supported blood donation campaigns. "We are grateful to those who will respond to this appeal and to the regular donors who, with their generosity, make it possible to save lives," said Volpe.
Donating blood is a simple but essential gesture to ensure the hospital's transfusion needs.
