Marcianise – A symbolic image marks the end of an era: the Jabil sign, removed from the Marcianise plant, disappears after 24 years, leaving workers in a state of disbelief and disorientation.

A turbulent past, marked by nearly a decade of disputes, has come to an end. In its place, the future is called Tme Assembly Engineering srl, the company that has taken over the entire production site and its 404 employees.

Despite years of tension, order problems, and reduced production, the departure of the American electronics multinational seemed a remote option. The workers, accustomed to protesting right in front of that wall, now feel "orphaned," almost incapable of accepting reality.

“Is Jabil really going away?” people were asking in the corridors on Saturday, in a bitter awakening that shattered the illusion of a corporate solidity that, with 120 factories around the world, seemed unassailable.

The future is called Tme and the shadow of the past

The transition is now official. Today, the 404 employees received new badges from TME, a company founded by former Jabil employee Aniello Stellato, and which may soon see Invitalia acquire a stake. The company, controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, represents hope for workers who fear reliving the nightmares of the past.

In recent years, dozens of former Jabil employees have faced failed reindustrialization projects, finding themselves unemployed or forced to relocate elsewhere. The hope is that Invitalia's involvement will ensure a more stable future and prevent further disappointments, offering protection against the recurrence of unsuccessful disputes.

Jabil's departure from Marcianise is more than just a change of ownership: it marks the end of a chapter in the Caserta area's industrial history, a chapter marked by sacrifice and uncertainty, leaving behind a deep wound and the hope of a new beginning.

The article about Jabil and its closure in Marcianise is very sad, but we also need to look to the future with TME. Let's hope the new badges bring good luck to the 404 workers; it won't be easy, but we have to try.
