The Napoli striker , forced to retire due to a high-grade lesion to the rectus femoris in his left thigh, wanted to send a message full of gratitude and optimism through his Instagram profile.
“Thank you all for the messages these past few days,” Big Rom wrote. “I truly appreciate your support. These things happen, injuries are part of the game. Thank God I feel good and am staying positive no matter what happens. See you soon.”
Words that sound like a promise to the Azzurri fans, already fond of the Belgian giant who in just a few months had shown he could carry the team with goals and character.
The injury will keep him out of action for several months, a heavy loss for Napoli, who, however, are counting on having their striker back at his best at the crucial moment of the season.
While we await Lukaku's return , the entire Neapolitan community is applauding, and their support continues to be felt. Because, as often happens under Vesuvius, when a champion dons the blue jersey, he's never alone.
