A widespread checkpoint operation has put an end to the presence of boats docked without authorization in the tourist port of Maiori, in the province of Salerno.
After a thorough review of the mooring documentation, the authorities cross-referenced the data held in the Miramare Service srl archives with documents submitted by the Municipal Property Office. The check revealed that, alongside regularly registered boats with up-to-date payment of fees, there were about ten vessels without any authorization.
Law enforcement, in coordination with the port manager, identified the illegal vessels, fined the owners, and removed them from the dock. The operation, the result of weeks of behind-the-scenes work, restored order to the waterfront and sent a clear signal against all forms of illegal activity.
The inspection operation in the port of Maiori appears to have been very important in stopping unauthorized vessels. However, there are always bureaucratic problems and penalties that aren't always clear to everyone.
