Torre del Greco – A nighttime shootout bloodied the early hours of the morning on Via Fontana, in the heart of the city. Some hitmen, still unknown, opened fire on a car that had just been parked near number 54.
A 48-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, was found inside the vehicle, miraculously unharmed despite the hail of bullets.
The particularly shaken man waited for the arrival of the police to get out of the car , almost not realizing that he was still alive and without even a wound.
His presence in the car at the time of the ambush leads investigators to believe it was a failed “execution,” a settling of scores within the local criminal community that fortunately came to nothing.
The violence of the attack wasn't limited to the vehicle. According to initial reports, the same attackers also fired at the facade of a building, just a few hundred meters from the first incident, in an escalation of intimidation that panicked local residents. Fortunately, no civilians were injured in either incident.
Specialized Carabinieri units immediately responded to the scene . The Torre Annunziata investigative unit and the Torre del Greco operational unit are conducting investigations and surveys, attempting to reconstruct the exact sequence of events and identify the perpetrators and the instigator.
The usual ballistic tests are underway to sequence the shots and identify the type of weapons used, while the video surveillance cameras in the area have already been seized. Investigators are working to determine the motive for the attack and the possible connection to the intended victim's illegal activities.

This is a very worrying situation that's happening in many cities. It's unclear why there's so much violence and why the authorities aren't able to stop these incidents. Let's hope the culprits are found.
Right, but I think the solution isn't easy. We need more controls and also more security for the ordinary people who live there without any problems and who might find themselves in situations like this.
