E' state arrested the young murderer who killed the inspector of police Ciro Luongo, 58, on duty at the Giugliano police station.
His name is Roberto Marchese and he's 21 years old. He's the son of the victim's partner. A violent argument between the two escalated into murder.
Inspector Luongo was killed with numerous stab wounds in the house on Viale Delle Margherite in Melito di Napoli, then the killer disappeared.
The last argument, the murder and the escape
It's still unclear what sparked the fight, but investigators are reconstructing every detail to determine if there were any previous tensions. What is certain is that the young killer, after striking Luongo, fled, leaving behind a crime scene that is yet to be deciphered.
Meanwhile, the inspector's colleagues are dismayed. Luongo, a man with years of service behind him, was killed within the confines of his home, in what should have been a safe place.
