The first calls for proposals for European Capital of Sport 2026 are now open. Sponsorships and sports projects are at the heart of this major inclusive event.
The journey toward Naples as European Capital of Sport 2026 has officially begun. The City of Naples has published the first two public tenders, launching the program of sporting events and activities that will enliven the entire year of 2026.
The first call seeks sponsors, companies, or individuals interested in supporting the cultural and sporting initiatives promoted by the Municipality. It is a call to the business community to contribute to a project that aims to bring the city into the international spotlight, promoting sport as a tool for inclusion and social regeneration. Applications must be submitted by October 31, 2025.
The second call for proposals is open to all sports associations, including clubs, amateur clubs, federations, and sports promotion organizations. The goal is to collect project proposals and select events to be included in the official Naples 2026 program . The deadline for applications is November 10, 2025.
"Our project, using sport as a powerful tool for inclusion, has been recognized at the European level," said Emanuela Ferrante, Councilor for Sport and Equal Opportunities. "The title of European Capital of Sport represents a prestigious international showcase and will be a driving force for the city's economic, social, and tourism growth."
With these calls, Naples not only begins the administrative process leading to the great event of 2026, but above all opens the challenge and excitement to all local communities. A concrete opportunity to jointly create a year of sport, culture, participation, and civic pride.
