Naples - The racketeering bosses in eastern Naples didn't even take a vacation over the August bank holiday weekend: this is demonstrated by the bomb that exploded the other night at Traversa Abbeveratoio 21 in the Ponticelli neighborhood.

The famous Lago pastry shop, located at Traversa Abbeveratoio 21, has ended up in the crosshairs of the "protection rackets." A firecracker damaged the shutter of the shop. One of the owners, Antonio Lago, posted a video on TikTok showing the damage, while police officers arrived on the scene with two patrol cars and carried out inspections.

The pastry shop is currently on vacation. Numerous comments of solidarity have been sent to the Lago family, renowned pastry chefs for over 50 years, famous for their "o'suspir," a super-soft cream puff that's also been featured on TV.

Antonio Lago, who continued the family tradition by combining an ice cream shop with the pastry shop, was interviewed for summary information by the police who are conducting the investigation.

Now they hope to identify the perpetrators of the attack by viewing images from public and private security cameras in the area. Although there aren't many of them, truth be told.

It's incredible how such things can happen, especially in an area like Ponticelli. Pasticceria Lago is an institution and doesn't deserve to suffer such violent acts. I hope the investigation yields swift results for the family.
