Castellammare di Stabia – A new opportunity to discover the archaeological gems of Stabia. Starting Sunday, August 4th, tourists will be able to more easily reach Villa Arianna, Villa San Marco, and the Libero D'Orsi Archaeological Museum thanks to a direct shuttle service departing from Castellammare di Stabia's city center.
The initiative, born from a collaboration between the Pompeii Archaeological Park and the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia, aims to improve accessibility to the Stabia sites, which are increasingly popular with visitors staying at local accommodations. The new connection replaces the previous one departing from Pompeii and makes the journey to the Roman villas simpler, quicker, and more integrated with local transportation.
The route and timetables
The Pompeii Artebus Stabia shuttle will depart daily from Piazza Giovanni XXIII at 11.30:18.00 a.m., stopping at various points in the city: Piazza Unità d'Italia, Via Puglia (near Centro Laser), the Libero D'Orsi Museum/Quisisana Palace, Villa Arianna, and Villa San Marco. The last bus is scheduled for XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
Tourists from Pompeii can reach Castellammare di Stabia via the Naples–Sorrento Circumvesuviana line, getting off at the “Castellammare di Stabia” stop and continuing on foot to one of the stops on the new shuttle service.
A model of widespread valorization
"This direct connection represents an important step," declared Park Director Gabriel Zuchtriegel. "It's not just a logistical solution, but a true cultural bridge that promotes the idea of a 'Great Pompeii,' understood as a widespread archaeological park. The villas of Stabiae are among the area's most fascinating treasures, and thanks to this service we aim to distribute tourist flows and economic benefits across a wider territory."
Castellammare's mayor, Luigi Vicinanza, was also pleased, emphasizing the importance of the partnership with the Archaeological Park: "Simplifying access to our cultural heritage is a concrete response to visitors' needs. Together with Director Zuchtriegel and the director of the Stabia Museum, Maria Rispoli, we are building a virtuous model for promoting the area."

The idea of having a shuttle to the villas is great, but I hope it's always punctual and doesn't have delays. Pompeii tourists also need to know how to get to Castellammare without any problems. It's important that everything works smoothly.
