Melito – A homicide occurred this evening on Viale delle Margherite, the heart of Melito. A 58-year-old man was found dead inside his home, stabbed multiple times with a knife.
The alarm was raised in the early afternoon, when neighbors reported suspicious noises coming from the apartment. Upon their arrival, Carabinieri from the Marano Company found the man's lifeless body, sprawled on the floor. Emergency services were unsuccessful: paramedics could only pronounce him dead.
Forensic and investigation officers are currently examining the scene. No leads have yet been ruled out: investigators are gathering evidence to reconstruct the attack and identify the perpetrator.
Investigators are interviewing the victim's family and acquaintances, while the area surrounding the home has been cordoned off to allow for technical investigations.
