Pompeii – A dangerous fire broke out this morning around 10,15:XNUMX a.m. on the outskirts of Pompeii. Residents of Via Spinelli, an area bordering Scafati and Boscoreale, suddenly saw a thick black cloud rise into the sky.

What caught fire were some old greenhouses in a judicial warehouse containing abandoned clothing. But the dangerous thing is that the fire bordered a major gas and fuel distributor. After raising the alarm, employees worked tirelessly to put out the flames with the facility's fire hoses, despite the grave danger.

Flames and black mud engulfed the gas station, forcing many residents to lock themselves inside, and in some cases, temporarily abandon their homes for fear of an explosion that would cause devastating damage.

It took some time for the firefighters to arrive; perhaps some people underestimated the situation. The flames, we reiterate, did not affect the fuel and gas stations thanks only to the prompt response of the facility's employees.

Now it remains to be seen how and why the fire started, and whether the greenhouse, which was used to store old clothes, had all the necessary permits. The investigation that the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office will undoubtedly open will determine this.
